3D-Printed Houses Move From Prototype to Production

Large-scale concrete printers are now building complete home shells in days rather than months.A gantry-mounted or robotic-arm printer extrudes layer after layer of a specialized concrete mix, following a digital blueprint to raise walls without traditional formwork or bricklaying. Builders say the technique cuts material waste substantially and allows curved, unconventional shapes that would be costly to achieve conventionally. Skeptics note that plumbing, wiring, and finishing still require the same skilled labor as any other home, limiting just how much time the method ultimately saves.
